Wallace Community College also offers a number of privately funded scholarships through external agencies. These scholarships may have specific requirements beyond those established by the College. Consideration is given to students who meet requirements set forth in the respective scholarship guidelines.
Completing the Dream Scholarship Program

The Sallie Mae Fund’s Completing the Dream Scholarship Program helps students from under-resourced, underrepresented, and underserved communities complete their post-secondary education. Students on track to complete their degree or continuous education program who are facing financial challenges may apply to receive a one-time scholarship of up to $2,500 to help complete their post-secondary education program. Scholarship applications for AY 2024-25 are being accepted now through 12/6/24 or until all scholarship dollars have been awarded.
Jack Kent Cooke Foundation’s Transfer Scholarship

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation will award Undergraduate Transfer Scholarships to outstanding community college students who plan to enroll full-time in a baccalaureate program at an accredited college or university in fall 2025. Each scholarship will cover a significant share of the student’s educational expenses for the final two to three years of a bachelor’s degree, including tuition, room and board, books and required fees. The maximum amount of the Cooke Foundation’s scholarship is $55,000 per year.
NISOD Student Essay Contest

- $1,000 USD
- Travel to the International Conference on Teaching and Leadership Excellence, which includes:
- Up to $400 USD toward travel to Austin, Texas;
- Up to two (2) nights lodging (Saturday and Sunday nights only);
- One (1) complimentary conference registration.
NISOD Graphic Design Contest

The winning student artist will receive:
- $1,000 USD
- Travel to the International Conference on Teaching and Leadership Excellence (May 24-27 in Austin, Texas), which includes:
- Up to $400 USD toward travel to Austin, Texas;
- Up to three (3) nights lodging (Saturday, Sunday, Monday nights only);
- One (1) complimentary conference registration.
In addition, each winning student’s college will receive a complimentary one-year NISOD membership.
