History is the story of humanity. It is the examination of the written record of major social, political, cultural, and economic events of the past. The study of history seeks to form narratives and uncover linked sequences and patterns in past events. It also investigates cause and effect, or why certain outcomes happened as they did and how they are linked to earlier events.

Enriching and fascinating, the history courses offered at Wallace Community College will spark your imagination and help develop your writing, critical analysis, and research skills. At least one history course is required for students who seek a transfer degree (Associate in Arts or Associate in Science).
