The EKG Technician Short Certificate Program at Wallace Community College prepares students for rewarding careers in cardiovascular diagnostics by providing the knowledge, technical skills, and hands-on experience needed to perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) and assist in the evaluation of cardiac function. Graduates are prepared to work in hospitals, physician offices, specialty clinics, outpatient diagnostic centers, and other healthcare settings where cardiac monitoring is an essential part of patient care.

Through a combination of classroom instruction, laboratory practice, and clinical application, students learn to perform accurate EKG procedures while providing safe, compassionate, and professional patient care.
