Wallace Community College is honored that your student is considering Dual Enrollment. This opportunity allows high school students to begin earning college credit while completing high school. We want you to feel informed and confident as your student begins this important step.
Before your student begins Dual Enrollment, here are a few important expectations, responsibilities, and considerations to review.
Students should speak with their high school counselor before applying to determine whether Dual Enrollment aligns with their academic goals and readiness.
Grades earned in Dual Enrollment courses become part of your student’s permanent college transcript. These grades may impact future college admissions, scholarship opportunities, and financial aid eligibility.
Students may be responsible for arranging transportation to and from campus depending on the course location and format.
Dual Enrollment courses require responsibility, independence, and self-motivation. Instructors expect students to manage their time effectively, complete assignments independently, and communicate professionally.
Wallace Community College welcomes homeschooled students to participate in Dual Enrollment. Through partnerships with homeschool programs across Alabama, eligible students can earn college credit while completing their homeschool education.

Students who earn a grade of D, F, or withdraw from a Dual Enrollment course will be suspended from the program for a minimum of one full term.
The required suspension period cannot be served during the summer term. Students must sit out a fall or spring term.
Students may not re-enroll in Dual Enrollment until the full suspension period has been completed.
To return to the program, students must reapply and have a minimum unweighted GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, known as FERPA, is a federal law that protects student education records. Understanding FERPA helps students and families know their rights, privacy protections, and how information may be shared.
Students must complete this form to allow Wallace Community College to share information with parents or others.
