Honorlock – How Do I Take My Test?

Prepare to use Honorlock for the first time at Honorlock Student Prep!  This tutorial takes you step-by-step and even gives you the chance to practice! This is HIGHLY recommended for anyone new to Honorlock.

Requirements for Using Honorlock

Before you can take an Honorlock-proctored exam, you will need:

  • A computer with a working webcam and microphone.
    • You cannot take an Honorlock-proctored exam with a mobile device or tablet.
  • A stable internet connection
  • Google Chrome installed on your computer.
    • Google Chrome is the only browser that can be used for a proctored exam.
  • The Honorlock Chrome Extension installed.
  • Wallace Community College ID
  • External Webcam:
    • English, Math, and Science online courses require an external webcam that can be connected by USB for online Honorlock proctoring.

Troubleshooting Tips from Honorlock

    • Student Toolbar: During assessments, exam takers have quick access to mid-exam tools via the student toolbar located at the bottom of the testing window.
    • Students should not be logged into their Google profile.  Personal profiles can affect permissions that prevent Honorlock connection.
    • Access Codes: When the Honorlock integration is working properly, students will not be prompted to enter an access code to start the quiz.
      If you see a prompt to enter an access code in Canvas, something on your computer is interfering with Honorlock.

      • Are you using the Chrome browser?
      • Have you installed the Honorlock extension?
      • Are you using an approved device? *no smartphones or tablets*
    • Honorlock not working on a Mac?
