Wallace Community College-Dothan (WCCD) was recently awarded the 2022 Pyramid Award for “Best in Social Media” by the Alabama Community College System Public Relations Association (ACCSPRA) at the organization’s fall conference in September. WCCD was recognized for its “Graduation Season” TikTok series celebrating graduating students and highlighting the program and career options at the College.
“Social media is an important tool for engaging with current and potential students,” said Taylor Wheeler, WCCD Director of Public Relations and Marketing. “We are grateful to be recognized for our efforts to creatively showcase the exciting career options Wallace has to offer.”
Wheeler credits the success of the College’s social media platforms to the Wallace student Social Media Ambassador program headed up by Angila Brannon, WCCD PR & Marketing Clerk. The Wallace Social Media Ambassadors contribute entertaining, relatable content for the Wallace platforms as well as provide social media coverage for College events. Full and partial scholarships are available for Social Media Ambassadors, and scholarship applications for the program are accepted each spring at wallace.edu/scholarships.
WCCD engages with the community on several social media accounts:
