Wallace Community College-Dothan (WCCD) will host a free AI Community Caravan workshop on Thursday, September 17, at 10:00 a.m. in the Community Enrichment Center on the Wallace Campus in Dothan, 1141 Wallace Drive, Dothan, AL 36303.

The session is free of charge and open to the community. Registration is required as spaces are limited.

The 90-minute session is designed to help community members build practical, everyday confidence using artificial intelligence (AI).  No technical experience is required, and the presentation will focus on explaining AI in simple, jargon-free language.

Participants will learn what AI is, where it already appears in everyday life, how to use AI responsibly and safely, and how to write more effective prompts. The session will also introduce free AI tools that can assist with common tasks such as drafting emails, brainstorming ideas, organizing information, creating content and more.

The presentation will also emphasize four key habits for responsible AI use: protecting personal information, verifying important facts, recognizing potential bias and keeping human judgment at the center of decision-making.

Attendees will take part in a hands-on prompt-writing exercise and leave with practical strategies they can begin using immediately. Technology is not required to participate in the workshop; however, attendees are welcome to bring their own devices, such as a laptop, tablet, or cell phone.
