The Wallace Community College-Dothan (WCCD) Sparks Foundation is honored to announce that the Foundation’s Sparks Campus scholarship golf tournament has been renamed the Dr. Linda C. Young Swing for Success Golf Tournament. This year’s tournament will be held Thursday, May 1, 2025, at the Country Club of Alabama in Eufaula.

Young Swing for Success Golf Tournament,” said Dr. Linda Young, WCCD President (Retired). “The Sparks Campus makes a tremendous impact on students and families in Barbour County and the surrounding areas. Scholarships for Sparks Campus students open doors to life-changing opportunities, strengthening our communities and empowering the next generation of leaders. I am grateful to be part of this legacy and look forward to seeing this tournament continue to support student success for years to come.”

The WCCD Sparks Foundation works in partnership with the College to ensure access to education and to help achieve success for its students. Approximately 70 scholarships are awarded annually to deserving Sparks students who would not otherwise be able to attend college. By revitalizing and renaming the tournament, the Foundation aims to increase the number of scholarships awarded and continue enhancing educational opportunities in the region.
Dr. Linda C. Young Swing for Success Golf Tournament sponsorships are available from $100 to $1,000 and the team entry fee is $400. Tournament proceeds will benefit WCC students on the Sparks Campus through the WCC Circle and Flame Scholarship fund.
