Wallace Community College-Dothan regularly monitors information from the Alabama Department of Public Health and the CDC regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and bases health protocols on that information. The current COVID-19 numbers in the College’s service area require the need for more stringent health and safety protocols in an effort to protect the health of College employees and students and still offer a wide range of instructional options.
The WCCD Health and Safety Plan for the Spring 2022 semester will include a requirement to wear masks while indoors. This mask requirement applies to individuals at all College sites and became effective on January 4, 2022, and it will remain in place until pandemic trends allow the College to end the requirement. The mask policy for dual enrollment students will be the policy in that high school or center in which the classes are held.
The College will continue to monitor guidelines issued by the CDC, the Governor’s Office, and the Alabama Community College System Office. WCCD’s first priority in responding to the guidance will always be to secure the safest environment for students, faculty, and staff.
