As the new chair, Dr. Young will guide the organization’s strategic direction and initiatives, leveraging her extensive leadership experience to advance LA’s mission.

“I am deeply honored to be named the chair of Leadership Alabama’s Board of Directors,” said Dr. Young. “This organization plays a significant role in shaping the future of our state by cultivating leaders who are committed to making a positive impact. I have seen firsthand how Leadership Alabama benefits participants, their communities, and the state as a whole. I am looking forward to working with my colleagues on the board during my tenure as chair as we help provide excellent leadership opportunities for fellow Alabamians.”

Dr. Young is a 1999 graduate of Leadership Alabama Class IX and has served on the Leadership Alabama board of directors since July 1, 2014. She has served on their Executive Committee since July 1, 2020.

Ashley Kaplan, Leadership Alabama’s Executive Director, expressed confidence in Dr. Young’s ability to lead the organization. “On behalf of everyone associated with Leadership Alabama, we are thrilled that Dr. Young has assumed the role of board chair for our 2024 – 2025 fiscal year.  She is an exemplary leader who is respected throughout the state, both professionally and personally, and her passion and unwavering commitment to LA’s continued growth and excellence will greatly benefit our organization and members.”
