The Financial Aid Department at Wallace Community College-Dothan (WCCD) is working with both current WCCD students and high schools throughout its service area to help students and families to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form to apply for financial aid for college. The State of Alabama now requires FAFSA to be completed for the upcoming school years as part of its graduation requirement.
“The new requirement has many anxious about completing this somewhat cumbersome process,” said Dr. Anthony Jouvenas, WCCD Director of Financial Aid. “We are actively working with and seek to work with anyone who needs assistance. We want to help ease the graduation burden for our students, families, and school systems while simultaneously opening doors to higher education.”
WCCD’s Financial Aid Department has been aiding current students with their applications for financial aid by holding in-person workshops on both the Wallace Campus in Dothan and the Sparks Campus in Eufaula. Additionally, WCCD has provided several area high schools with on-site assistance since the FAFSA application opened in October 2021 and will continue to do so through the end of the current school year.
Local high schools who are interested in scheduling on-site assistance from WCCD or anyone who needs more information on FAFSA and financial aid can contact the WCCD financial aid department at finaid@wallace.edu or 334-556-2476.
