In recognition of Adult Education and Family Literacy Week September 15 – 21, 2024, the Wallace Community College–Dothan (WCCD) Adult Education Department will hold a “Family Literacy Night” community event on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on the Wallace Campus in Dothan.
This event is free to the public and will feature storytelling, arts and crafts, prizes, games, refreshments and more. Adults and children of all ages are encouraged to attend and dress as their favorite book character. This fun and informative event will also share information about the Adult Education services offered to the community.
“Adult Education and Family Literacy Week serves as a vital reminder of the transformative power of education for individuals and communities alike,” said Barbara Steger, WCCD Adult Education Director. “By investing in adult learning, we empower individuals to gain essential skills, foster personal growth, and create opportunities for themselves and their families. As we celebrate this week, let us reaffirm our commitment to making education accessible to all, helping to build a brighter future for everyone.”
