Chitty Chitty Bang Bang brings the iconic Ian Fleming book and Albert R. Broccoli film to the stage! The musical chronicles the story of the widowed inventor Caractacus Potts and his family as they seek to rebuild the renowned Paragon Panther, Britain’s champion racecar. Trouble ensues when the Baron and Baroness of Vulgaria discover the car and send their spies to rural England to steal it. This whimsical tale features unconventional settings, hummable tunes, hilarious characters, and even a flying car!
The production is being directed by WCCD’s new theatre director, Ben Lundy. Lundy is excited to collaborate with Wallace’s faculty, staff, and students to bring this spectacular production to life. Lundy says, “The talented folks of the fine arts division have made this production an unforgettable experience, and I am honored to explore this inventive musical that celebrates imagination and familial love. I am proud to be a new member of the Wallace family.”
“Teamwork makes the dream work” is a lyric repeated throughout the show, and Lundy is thankful for the incredibly talented and dedicated fine arts team who have contributed to making this production possible.
