About the LRC
The Phillip J. Hamm Library was established with Wallace Community College in 1965. In 1969, the technical school and junior college merged to form the first community college in South Alabama. In 2000, the library expanded into the Learning Resources Center (LRC) System, with locations in Dothan and Eufaula.
The Learning Resources Centers provide resources and services for students, instructors, and staff to support College coursework, community and corporate education, and lifelong learning.
The LRC collection includes print and electronic books, periodicals, DVDs, and electronic research databases. Resources and services are available at both the Dothan and Eufaula locations and online through the Library website.

No, but a current Wallace Community College Student ID is required to check out materials.
Books: 28 days for students and staff; length of term for instructors.
Periodicals: Non-circulating for students and community patrons; available on a limited basis to College employees upon sign-out.
Audiovisuals: Available on a limited basis for all users, with a two-day limit for students.
Reserve items: Checkout periods are determined by the instructor and may include in-house use, one hour, 24 hours, or another specified period.
Circulation periods may be renewed unless a hold has been placed on the item.
Students may check out a maximum of four books at one time. Exceptions may be approved by library staff or the Director of Library Services.
Students may check out a maximum of two audiovisual items at one time.
Yes. Overdue fines and related library debts are handled according to current LRC procedures.
Yes. Replacement costs are based on the actual cost of the item, when available, plus a $5 processing fee. Outstanding replacement charges are considered debts to the College and must be cleared according to current library procedures.
Instructors may place books, study guides, practice tests, artifacts, models, audiovisuals, and other materials on reserve so that as many students as possible can access them. Reserve items have limited checkout periods determined by the instructor.
Yes. Interlibrary Loan may be used to request eligible materials that are not available locally. Any applicable expenses, including postage, are the responsibility of the borrower and must be paid when the item is picked up.
Yes. With a current Wallace Community College Student ID, students may have borrowing privileges at participating area libraries, including Troy University Dothan Campus Library, the Dothan Houston County Library System, Eufaula Carnegie Library, and Ozark-Dale County Public Library.
Students are expected to follow the policies of the library from which they are borrowing materials or receiving services.
