Periodicals… Non-circulating for students and community patrons; limited basis for college employees upon sign-out

Audiovisuals… Limited basis for all users. 2 day limit for students

Reserve Items… As indicated by instructor (in house only, one hour, 24 hours, etc.)

Circulation periods are renewable for all users, provided a hold has not been placed on a specific title. In this case, the circulation period is not renewed and the item must be returned at its original due date.

A maximum of four books may be checked out by a student at one time. Exceptions may be made by library staff or the Director of Library Services. Current and back issues of periodicals may not be checked out to students but may be borrowed upon sign-out by college employees.

A maximum of two audiovisual items may be checked out by a student at one time.

Yes. Overdue fines are calculated as follows:

1. A fine of ten cents per day is charged for each book that is overdue. Fines are not charged for days during which the libraries are not open, when the due date will either be the day before or after a holiday or college closing dates.
2. Replacement costs for lost or damaged items are as follows: Actual cost of item if available plus a $5.00 processing fee.
3. Overdue fines and replacement costs for unreturned library materials are considered debts to the college. Student records for students with outstanding library debts are flagged in the Office of Admissions and Records, and students may not register or submit graduation requests until the debt has been cleared by the library staff.
4. At the end of each semester, a list of students with library debts is given to the Office of Admissions and Records.
5. Library users with overdue items may not check out additional materials until all overdue fines are paid and/or materials are returned.
6. Students who apply for graduation must have no outstanding library debts at the time of application, except items that are in current use by the students (e.g., at the end of the final semester).
7. Email reminders (via Wallace Community College Student E-Mail) are sent to students with overdue items and outstanding library debts.

Instructors may place books, study guides, practice tests, artifacts, models, audiovisuals, and other items on “reserve.” This means that the items are placed on limited circulation so that as many people as possible will have access to them during the time needed. These items may be checked out for the specified time period at the Reserves Desk inside the library. Library cards are required to check-out any reserve item.

Yes. An ILL Online Request Forms is also available. All expenses including postage, will be assumed by the borrower rather than the Wallace Community College LRC System and must be paid at the time that the item is picked up.

Yes. With a current Wallace Community College Student ID, you may check out items from Troy University / Dothan Campus Library, Dothan Houston County Library System, Eufaula Carnegie Library, and Ozark-Dale County Public Library.

Students will be expected to abide by the terms and policies of the library from which they are requesting resources and or services.
