Can I Opt-Out?

Students have the option to opt-out of this program each semester. Opting out means you will not receive access to your required course materials in a convenient package at a discounted rate.  You will be responsible for purchasing your own required textbooks, lab manuals, access codes, digital materials, and any other supplies for ALL of your courses.  Students are unable to opt-out for individual courses; you opt-out for all courses in the semester.
Please Note: Students are automatically enrolled in the program each semester.

Students are given the option to opt-out of this program each semester. This option will be available prior to the beginning of each semester (fall, spring, and summer) through the posted date.  The last day to Opt-Out for the Spring 2025 semester is January 29, 2025. However, in order to avoid being purged for non-payment, we strongly recommend you opt-out by January 2, 2025.

After opting-out students will receive an email confirmation from Barnes & Noble. Please contact the Bookstore at sm8492@bncollege.com or 334.556.2240 for assistance with this process.

How do I determine if I should Opt-Out?

There may be a situation where the Wallace Books+ fee exceeds the retail amount for your books or does not benefit you in a given semester. For example, maybe one or more of your courses is utilizing no-cost materials or no materials at all. In this case, it might be a good idea to opt-out for that semester. We encourage you to visit the Wallace Community College Bookstore Website to search for and review the costs of your required materials as compared to the Wallace Books+ cost before making your opt-out decision. Remember to do your research every semester!
