Mr. Robert Rhoades, Chair
Rob is the President of Diamond-R-Electric in Enterprise, Alabama. After completing his first degree at Auburn, he later graduated from WCC with an Electrical Technology (ELT) degree. Rob received the 2013 Alumnus of the Year award and also serves on the Advisory Council for the ELT program. He joined the Board in 2014.
Mr. Jim Dennis, Chair Elect
Jim is the Chief Executive Officer for Extendicare Health & Rehabilitation Center. He has a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy. Jim and his wife, Terri, have three children, Kaitlyn, Sarah and Mary. Terri graduated with an Associate Degree in Nursing from WCC. Their daughter Sarah attended WCC as a dual enrollment student.
Mr. Harrison Morris, Treasurer
Harrison is the Chief Executive Officer and President of Servis1st Bank in Dothan. He has served on the Board since 2008. He and his wife Kelton have three children.
Mr. Beau Benton, Immediate Past Chair
Beau Benton serves as President of Larry Blumberg and Associates. Beau has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Auburn University. He joined the Foundation Board in 2011. Beau and his wife Karen have three children.
Mr. Jeff Brannon
Jeff Brannon is the CEO of Flowers Hospital. Jeff previously served on the Wallace Community College Foundation Board from 1995 to 2015. He is a Wallace alumnus, earning his nursing degree from Wallace Community College and an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Troy University. Jeff has more than 30 years of experience in health-care administration, having also served as the CEO of Wiregrass Medical Center in Geneva and Monroe County Hospital in Monroeville. He is a member-at-large of the Alabama Hospital Association Board of Trustees and served on the association’s executive committee. Jeff and his wife Nina have three children, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Nina and their three children also attended Wallace.
Mr. Kelly Colbert
Kelly Colbert is the President of Covenant Steel in Dothan. He is a Wallace alumnus and played on the Wallace basketball team. He also served as the assistant Basketball coach (1987 – 1990) and Softball coach (1990) for Wallace. Kelly and his wife Michelle have five children and two grandchildren. Michelle and two of their children also attended Wallace.
Mr. John Coleman
John is the Executive Vice President and General Counsel for Coleman Worldwide Moving, LLC. John is also the Interim Rector at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. John and his wife, Mary, have 3 children, James, William, and Caroline.
Mr. Dwight Gamble
Dwight is the President and CEO of HNB First Bank and has been there for 30 years. He is an alumnus of Wallace, along with his wife and two children.
Mr. Charles F. Harper
Charlie is the Chairman and President of Commercial Bank of Ozark. Charlie and his wife, Tina, have three children and three grandchildren.
Mrs. Emily Heersink
Emily is a native of Maine. After graduating from Wellesley College, she worked in the editorial department of Harper Collins Publishers in New York City. She subsequently moved to Washington, D.C., where she worked as a grant writer for a large non-profit health and social services provider. After graduating from George Washington University School of law, she took a job in Philadelphia as an associate in the litigation department of Ballard Spahr, LLC. Emily and her husband moved to Dothan in 2011. Seeing a need for more diverse pre-school options in Dothan, in 2013 Emily co-founded Dothan Montessori School. Emily has a strong interest in education and worked on the capital campaign to build the new Dothan Houston County Libraries. Emily is married to Dr. Sebastian Heersink and they have three children.
Mr. O. Lewis Humphrey
Lew is a retired EVP from the financial services segment of Fortune 200 Textron, which counts among its world class brands Bell Helicopter and Cessna Aircraft. He has served on the Board since 2008 and received the 2012 Alumnus of the Year award. Lew and his wife Carol were members of the first WCC academic graduating class in 1967. He lives in Pensacola, Florida.
Mr. Pete A. McInish
Pete is an attorney in Dothan and has served on the Board since 2008. He has two children.
Mr. David Money
David is the Henry County Probate Judge and Commission Chair. He has served on the Board since 2005. He attended WCC and played baseball under Coach Johnny Oppert on Wallace’s first baseball team. David and his wife Karen have four children (their son Scott also attended WCC) and ten grandchildren.
Mr. Charles Owens
Charles is the Vice Chair of Construction Partners, Inc. He joined the Board in 2014. Charles and his late wife Julia both attended WCC. They have one son, Brandon, and a daughter, Alicia.
Mr. Vic Pemberton
Vic serves as President and General Manager of The Pepi Companies. He joined the Foundation Board in 2011. Vic and his wife Lorie have three children and five grandchildren.
Mr. Ron Watson
Ron is Managing Member of Watson & Downs Investments. He has served on the Board since 2002. He attended WCC and his wife Leslie taught at WCC. They have two children.
Dr. J. Wade Whatley
Wade graduated from UAB Dental School in 2011 and owns Whatley Family Dentistry in Abbeville, Alabama. He currently lives in Abbeville and is a member of the Abbeville United Methodist Church. Wade has served on the Board since 2013.
Mrs. Suzanne Woods
Suzanne is the CEO at Dothan Hematology & Oncology. She received a master’s degree in health administration from the University of Alabama, Birmingham and an undergraduate degree in human and organizational development from Vanderbilt University. Suzanne attends First United Methodist Church. She and her husband, Billy, have one daughter, Lily.

Dr. James R. Chasteen, Emeritus Director
James served on the Foundation Board for 17 years. He served as president for several community colleges, including Calhoun Community College. After retiring from the Community College Systems, he became president/CEO of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. He also served as a member of the United States Olympics Committee’s Board for six years. James and his wife, Melba, a former WCC English instructor, endowed a scholarship in memory of Melba’s father, A. A. Middleton. The Chasteen’s have two children and five grandchildren.
Mr. Charles Edward Coggins, Emeritus Director
Charles is retired from AAA Cooper Transportation as Vice-president of Administration and Finance. He served on the Foundation Board for 15 years. One of his two daughters, Carla, attended WCC. Charles lives in Homewood, AL.

Dr. Linda C. Young
Dr. Linda C. Young has served as a president in the Alabama Community College System since 1988 when she was appointed president of Sparks State Technical College in Eufaula. In 1999, Sparks was merged with Wallace Community College, and Dr. Young was appointed president of the institution. Under her leadership, the College has developed strong community support as evidenced by its two thriving Foundations. Dr. Young received her associate in arts degree from Enterprise State Junior College, both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Troy University, and she received her doctorate from Auburn University. She has served in a variety of civic organizations and professional associations over the years.
Dr. Tracy Brooks, Director, Institutional Advancement
Dr. Tracy Brooks has been with Wallace Community College since 2007. She works with both the Wallace Community College Foundation and the Wallace Community College Sparks Campus Foundation and is an instructor in the Business Technologies Department. She received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Troy University, and she received her doctorate degree from Auburn University.
